MOTORCYCLE TRAINING
At RydeRight Motorcycle training we aim to provide you with the highest quality instruction possible and ensure that you are ready for any challenge you may face on the road. We have a great selection of experienced instructors who are all enhanced DRB checked for your safety.
With over three decades of experience and the highest first-time pass rate on the Isle of Wight, we are confident that we can guide you on your journey to become a competent and safe rider.
Alongside the various bike training courses at RydeRight, we also offer Rider Foundation and Rider Enhancement courses. These courses suit all abilities and ages and will help develop your control and understanding of motorcycles.

16+ | 50cc - 125cc | ONE DAY COURSE
The CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) is the entry level motorcycle qualification. Completing this course will activate your provisional license and allow you to ride up to a 125cc bike on L plates for two years (50cc if you are 16 years old).
We carry out our CBT's across two venues, Ryde Academy and the Isle of Wight College, an average course takes one day, but there have been cases where learners have been asked to return for further training.
Please bring your full or provisional driving license on the day.
You much have a valid CBT before you are able to take higher level motorcycle qualifications.
19+ | 47bhp | RESTRICTED MOTORCYCLE LICENSE
Once completed, this course will enable you to ride bikes with engine sizes of 47BHP and below. You will also be allowed to remove your L Plates and take pillion passengers on your bike.
You will start your taining on a 125cc bike and work up to larger bikes as you grow more proficient. Once you have passed your theory test and we believe you are comfortable enough, you will take your Module 1 and Module 2 tests.

This course includes a maximum of two foundation training sessions, three Mod 1 training sessions, three Mod 2 training sessions and your test. Additional sessions will require a fee.
24+ | UNRESTRICTED MOTORCYCLE LICENSE
This course will enable you to ride bikes of any engine size. In order to take the DAS course you must be 24 years old or you must have held an A2 license for at least two years.
You will start training on a 125cc bike and we will increase the engine size as you become more comfortable. Once you have passed your theory test, you will be ready to take the Module 1 and Module 2 tests. These tests must be carried-out on a machine that is 53BHP and at least 600cc.
